Sue Whimster

Managing Director
Back in 1989 Sue started out making curtains for friends and family at home and went on to form her company. Over the years her company has gone from strength to strength. In 2012 she moved her workforce to a large industrial unit in South London. Sue works full time, not only managing the company on a daily basis, but is also available for site meetings. The vast majority of her curtains and soft furnishing are made in house by her skilled seamstresses and are overseen by both herself and her dedicated team. Although a majority of Sue's work is in the UK, her services have been commissioned all over the world. These have included a multitude of projects for Interior Designers and Private clients. Projects have ranged from residential properties to show houses, country residencies to penthouses and holiday homes to castles. Sue has been lecturing at KLC Design School in Chelsea Harbour, London for the last 10 years. KLC Design School in one of the UK’s Leading Colleges for Interior Design. Sue lectures Degree and Diploma students in “Professional Curtain and Blind Making” and “Window Treatments”

Nicola Hucklesby

Operations Manager/Senior Project Manager

As Sue’s ‘right hand’ Nicky is a vital member of Sue’s team. Along with running her own projects Nicky is also involved with  the day to day logistics of the company -from looking after the office diary and our team of fitters to making sure all  orders are made on time and in the correct place ready for fitting.

Theresa Ravenscroft

Senior Project Manager
Having spent over 30 years working in the fashion industry, Theresa decided to take a short career break and joined Sue Whimster Curtains Ltd as their Lead Estimator in February 2017. For the first year, Theresa predominantly generated all estimates for customers that made enquiries through our website, as well as assisting the project managers with quotes and occasional orders. During this period, Theresa began to form beneficial knowledge of curtains and soft furnishings and has since progressed to project manager. For a very long time, Theresa could not see herself escaping from the world of fashion and now finds learning about another industry very refreshing.

Isabela Streeter

Project Manager
Isabella is fresh out of Leeds University with a bachelors degree in Graphic Art and Design having just started at Sue Whimster Ltd in 2018. Moving to London from Mumbai, her love for textiles and interior design have been ever-present in her work. She is happy to advise customers on fabrics and styles that would suit their requirements. Isabella has interned with companies like Vogue India, Relay for Life and TEDx having given her both a leadership and administration role working within high end industries. Isabela is always quick to help with any of your queries!

Faiza Matovu

Lead Estimator
Faiza has been working in the fashion industry since completing her fashion design bachelors degree in 2014. Faiza then moved on and gained extensive knowledge on various fabrics and trimmings and worked in fashion houses within Europe. After a long trip exploring South America she has decided to focus her interest and knowledge of details, textiles and interior design as our trainee estimator here at Sue Whimster Ltd.

Masooma Bibi

Workroom Manager
Masooma is the Workroom Manager she is responsible to ensuring our products are being made at the highest quality standards. She has an eye for detail and a wealth of experience in the process of manufacturing soft furnishings.

Chintya Gaijan

Financial Planner and Analyst (FP&A)
Chintya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile & Fashion Design, an Executive MBA and is ACCA Part qualified. She has previously worked for soft furnishing companies and fashion houses. She joined Sue Whimster Curtains in February 2016 with an aim to spear-head the Company’s financial quarterly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis and special projects. She provides financial consulting and strategic support to senior management and project managers. She enjoys problem solving and implementation of improved work systems. She is in charge of the accounts department and is the key contact for sales and purchases ledger.
